SEE OUR PHOTOS: CHECK OUT THESE BEARS!
With a very limited number of tags given out annually a Nevada Black Bear tag is more difficult to draw than some sheep tags. Draw odds are actually better for non-residents than residents. This hunt is a tremendous opportunity with a better than average chance to harvest an exceptional Black Bear. The majority of the mature bears harvested weigh in at 300-600 lbs. with skull sizes from 18-22”.
We employ the use of hounds specially trained for the pursuit of Bears and Mountain Lion. With our own breeding and training program we maintain an exceptional kennel of trained hounds. Bear hunts in Nevada can be very physically demanding at times so be sure to prepare for hiking in rough terrain.
Typical season dates range from Sept 15 - Dec 1, or until harvest limits are met.
We prefer a heavy caliber rifle or archery tackle over handgun use. We pride ourselves on providing our clients with 100% opportunity on black bears to date.
With black bear hound hunts most shots will be between 3 and 30 yards so practice at this range. Make sure to practice with a bow at close range as your yardage pins change at 5 yards and less!
Spot and stalk hunts may require longer range shots where the further you can accurately shoot, the better your odds!
