Mule deer hunting is our first love; By far one of the most challenging hunts available with any weapon especially a bow. Spot and stalk mule deer hunting for trophy bucks is a great time. Being in good physical condition will greatly increase the chance for opportunity and success. Scouting is key for big mule deer.
Canyons West primarily hunts mule deer in units 6, 7, 8, 10, and 14: outstanding units home to the largest deer herds in the state, and known for consistently producing quality bucks.
We employ knowledgeable guides with years of experience hunting these units, which has resulted in 100% opportunity hunts with high success rates.
Our method of hunting is generally spot and stalk, so expect to do some hiking when hunting. However, field transportation consists primarily of 4x4 vehicles including trucks, UTV/ATV, 4wheeler and snowmobile if necessary.
Average bucks harvested are in the 24-28 inch category with the occasional 30” class buck taken.
Archery, rifle, and muzzleloader hunters are welcome! We pride ourselves on providing our clients with 100% opportunity on a mature buck to date.
With mule deer hunting the longer you can ACCURATELY shoot the better. Bow hunters should be proficient minimally to 40 yards, gun hunters to 300 yards and muzzleloader hunters to 100 yards.
Season dates range from August through December depending upon the weapon and unit.
Contact us and we can walk you through the season and date options available.
